Welcome to Find A Shot

Find A Shot is a community service project that checks for COVID-19 vaccine appointment availabilty at pharmacies nationwide.

We have re-enabled the appointment checkers. Most pharmacy locations do not require appointments at this time, but with interest increasing, we have reopened the site for use. Please be aware that our checkers have not been actively maintained, so some information may be out of date. For more information about the COVID-19 vaccine, please see Vaccines.gov.

Tips for finding a vaccine appointment

  • Check back often: appointments come available throughout the day and week as more vaccines are shipped and appointments are loaded into providers' systems.
  • Visit your local health department's website: not all vaccine locations are covered by Find A Shot. Use the link on your state's page to visit your local health department.
  • Know your eligibility status: there are different rules in every state. Use the health department link on your state's page to find out if you are eligible.
  • Be patient: the USA has ordered enough vaccines to fully vaccinate each person in the country about 1.9 times. As production ramps up, the vaccine will become more widely available.
  • Wear a mask & social distance: both before and after getting the vaccine, it is important to wear a mask and socially distance to protect those who have not yet gotten the vaccine.

Find A Shot started as a project to help people find a COVID-19 vaccine appointment at pharmacies in Texas and quickly scaled nationwide. A volunteer-based initiative, FindAShot.org aims to help people interested in getting vaccinated find available appointments.

Can you help me book an appointment?
We have no staff or enough volunteers to book appointments on your behalf. Please use our search tools to look for available appointments at local pharmacies.

Is the information on this website accurate?
Find A Shot periodically checks appointment websites for availability. The information on Find A Shot is accurate as of the moment we check the appointment website. However, given the present high demand for vaccines, appointments book up quickly and may no longer be available within minutes of our checks. Additionally, we can only report what we see on the pharmacy's own website. If a pharmacy shows and appointment, but then prevents booking the appointment for any reason, we unfortunately cannot detect that issue.

Does this website add to the strain on the healthcare system?
At present, pharmacies and hosptials are receiving more calls than they can answer. This website seeks to reduce the call volumes by publishing appointment availability and providing links to online appointment scheduling systems, so the healthcare facilities can focus on delivering healthcare instead of answering phones. Overall, we expect we can help make the vaccination process more efficient.

I found a location taking appointments online that isn't listed on Find A Shot. How can I add it?
